About This Special Issue
Using mathematical modeling of systems and numerical methods to solve complex problems is extensively used in the most diverse areas in technology. With the progress in the comprehension of the kinetic mechanisms of biological systems, it has become plausible to apply the same physical principles to the modeling of diseases, especially cancer. It is of great interest to establish simulations that can reduce in time and cost the complexity of the experimental procedures. This requires a multidisciplinary effort among mathematicians, engineers, physicists, physicians, biologists and chemists to understand the etiology of the disease, as well as to predict possible diagnosis and treatment models. We invite researchers to submit their latest research work and share their experience with other fellow researchers. The topics in this special includes but not limited to the following:
- Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy Modelling;
- Mathematical models of tumor growth and response to therapies;
- Angiogenesis progression;
- Immunotherapy for solid tumors;
- Biomarkers and image processing.
